A Former journalist and City PR adviser, Chris Scott is a Partner at Schillings and specialises in using his blend of media and legal experience to work with international businesses to identify and manage threats to corporate reputation and the privacy of executives and investors.

Chris has a particular interest in how public information can be harnessed to reduce the risks to a reputation before damage is caused. He heads a team who manage the first stage of our reputation protection model that helps client understand their current reputation profile and vulnerable channels, and makes recommendations to reduce the impact of harmful content and critics. Through analysing vulnerable material and establishing links around topics and sources, Chris' team work alongside clients' communications and legal advisors to deploy an array of tools to reduce reputation and privacy risks - be they legal, practical, technical or in relation to clients' digital security, applicable internationally and across jurisdiction.

His clients include multi-billion dollar mining, commodities and energy clients with commercial interests across the globe and a number of FTSE 100 companies.

Chris is also an experienced libel and privacy litigator, acting in a number of high profile media disputes including Sheldon Adelson and Las Vegas Sands' successful libel claim against Associated Newspapers and Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou's libel action against Ryanair and Michael O'Leary.
