Ben is a solicitor specialising in reputation protection. His work covers defamation, privacy, copyright and intellectual property rights.
Ben regularly acts on behalf of various high profile and high-net worth individuals and corporate brands on a pre and post publication basis. He has worked on cases on behalf of clients including Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricky Gervais, Roman Abramovich, Stelios Haji-Ioannou and the Kennel Club, among others.
Ben has experience in obtaining emergency injunctions on behalf of clients at short notice, in obtaining a Statement in Open Court on behalf of clients such as Jacob Zuma, the President of South Africa and in securing published apologies for clients such as Bruce Forsyth from the News of the World.
Ben enforces his clients’ rights against those publishing private, defamatory or protected material on the internet and in particular social networking sites, content sharing websites such as YouTube, the owners and hosts of websites and internet service providers.
Ben also has a keen interest in sports law, having acted for a number of international and Premier League footballers and clubs. His experience in this area was furthered in 2009/10 during his training with Schillings when he was seconded to Wasserman Media Group (WMG), a global sports agency and management company. Whilst there, he carried out contractual work for, and was involved in commercial matters on behalf of, a number of top footballers, agents, rugby players and other sports personalities.
