Landmark rulings

Our groundbreaking privacy work for Naomi Campbell against the Daily Mirror in 2004 resulted in a landmark ruling by the House of Lords to protect personal privacy. We established a law of privacy to protect children through our work for the son of JK Rowling. And we secured the first-ever front-page apology in a UK newspaper for Brooke Shields.

In 2006, we helped City stockbrokers Collins Stewart Tullett achieve a prominent apology, £300,000 in damages, and costs from the Financial Times in a defamation case.

In 2007, we won a landmark injunction on behalf of the Law Society, which ultimately protected the privacy of thousands of solicitors’ clients. And for GlaxoSmithKline, we achieved the first-ever corporate injunction against ‘persons unknown’.

We enabled Roman Polanski to provide live video evidence in a trial. And we were the first to win an award of half a spouse’s assets in a multimillion pound divorce for Shan Lambert.

By practising law and pushing the boundaries, Schillings acts as a catalyst for change.
