The publishers of Woman magazine have printed a full statement in their latest edition following adjudication from the Press Complaints Commision. TV actress Natalie Cassidy successfully lodged a complaint with the commision following an article, published in April 2008 headlined "Gym or him"?, claimed that she had visited a gym regularly to prepare for the release of her weight-loss DVD. The PCC concluded that the article was innacurate and in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the code.
The PCC held that Woman magazine had not published its February adjudication in full, with due prominence and with a headline reference to the PCC, as it was required by the Editor's Code of Practice to do. The PCC issued a further rebuke to the magazine, which Woman magazine carried in full on page 9, the same positioning as the article which was the subject of the original complaint.
