Shevchenko wins libel case and secures apology from the Daily Mirror

Andriy Shevchenko, an internationally renowned professional footballer who plays for Chelsea Football Club, has today secured an apology from the Daily Mirror. The newspaper accepts that the allegations they made on four separate occasions in January and March are untrue and without foundation and ought never to have been published.
The Daily Mirror has agreed to pay Shevchenko substantial undisclosed damages and his legal costs.
