Louis M Bacon secures apology and Statement in Open Court from Daily Mail

Louis M Bacon, manager and founder of Moore Capital Management, LP has secured an apology and Statement in Open Court from Associated Newspapers Ltd, publishers of the Daily Mail, over an article published by the Daily Mail on 4 September 2010 which suggested that neither Mr Bacon nor Moore Capital were suitable people from whom the Conservative Party should consider accepting financial donations.
The suggestions complained of were false and had no basis in fact and have been a cause of great concern to Mr Bacon.
Following our complaint on behalf of Mr Bacon, Associated Newspapers accepted that the allegations were untrue, infelicitous and that the article should not have been published.
On October 1 2010, an apology was published on page 9 of the Daily Mail and online at dailymail.co.uk with a link from "Editor's Six of the Best" section of the website's homepage.
