Sports and IP Panel
Schillings are proud to be involved with the International Bar Association and this year Allan Dunlavy is co-chairing the session on Sport and IP law at the Annual Conference in Vancouver, Canada. The session will use the experience of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa and the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver to consider the issues of personality rights, ambush marketing and the exploitation of sport and media rights.
Schillings will be joined for what is certain to be an interesting and lively debate by the senior legal advisor to the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Head of IP for FIFA, experienced sports lawyers from Singapore and Geneva and a representative of the official Australian broadcaster for the Olympics and FIFA World Cup.
Media Panel
Schillings have been invited by the International Bar Association's Media Law Committee to join its panel to discuss personality rights, rights of publicity and the surrounding international legal issues at the Association's Annual Conference in Vancouver, Canada.
Rod Christie-Miller will be taking part in the session alongside lawyers from the United States, Australia and France and the whole spectrum of views will be represented. Schillings are at the vanguard of these issues and are delighted to participate in this highly topical debate which is of great importance to our clients; many of whom have multi-jurisdictional concerns of this nature.
