Welcome

Welcome to our graduate recruitment information. On these pages you’ll find out what is special about Schillings and why you might want to work with us.

We are the leading law firm specialising in reputation protection.  If you have studied media law you’ll have come across some of the landmark cases in which we have achieved legal breakthroughs. And if you’re not an expert, you may soon see why our work is so fascinating.

In Naomi Campbell v Mirror Group Newspapers we established a right to privacy in England.

With Bloomsbury v John Doe we obtained a court order to stop an unknown person (‘John Doe’, named after unidentified bodies in US cop shows) trying to leak the contents of one of the Harry Potter books before it was published.

And in Polanski v Condé Nast film director Roman Polanski was granted permission to give evidence in a libel trial via video link even though he could not enter the country at the time.

We pride ourselves on using the law to protect clients’ interests, and if the existing law doesn’t help, we’ll look for ways to change it.

Victories include cases for our Entertainment & media clients including Madonna and Angelina Jolie, sportsmen like Wayne Rooney and Lance Armstrong and businesses such as Collins Stewart and GlaxoSmithKline.  Our trainees have been integral to such successes.
