We are pleased to announce that we have won the 'Law Firm of the Year Award' (Reputation and Privacy) at the Spear's Wealth Management HNW Awards 2010. The award was presented to the reputation management law firm which has provided outstanding service during 2009-10.
Commenting on the award our Senior Partner, Keith Schilling said, "We are delighted to have received the award for Law firm of the year. It's great to be recognised as being at the top of our game for our work in reputation and privacy within the private wealth sector."
Spear's Wealth Management, a quarterly magazine for high net worth individuals and those in the financial service industries, is celebrating it's fourth Spear's Wealth Management Awards.
Last night's Awards celebrated the private individuals and the firms in the HNW sector in the UK and Europe that have made a positive and significant impact in the private client world.

Whilst much of our work revolves around reputation protection from a legal point of view, i.e. defamation and privacy, and commercial litigation, we have a family department that historically has always stayed below the radar; in keeping with our ethos as a firm that provides robust matrimonial advice discreetly and effectively.
In recent years, we have seen a real surge in the demand for all types of family advice, and to that end our family practice is growing to meet these needs which has been recognised by our family team being named as a finalist for this award.

The Lawyer Awards 2009
Matthew Himsworth is an associate at Schillings and specialises in reputation protection on behalf of corporations, brands and public figures. He has developed his career over the last seven years, having trained with Schillings, and has built a strong profile both within the firm and externally within the legal profession and with clients.
The award is presented to the solicitor who has demonstrated entrepreneurship, business building skills and technical legal skills. Matthew's commitment to both the firm and our clients extends beyond his core role and is evident in the numerous projects he has initiated.
Matthew has received praise from many of his clients, mainly from the firm's sports law practice, which he has been instrumental in developing. Clients say Himsworth is 'personable whilst providing clear and sensible advice' and with that sentiment they add 'he offers excellent strategic recommendations'. One major sporting body went onto say, 'we have found Matt to be extremely professional and we are delighted to be associated with him'

Winner - Gideon Benaim

Gideon Benaim received this award having been a partner at the firm for just over two years. This particular category recognising the innovation, creativity, commitment to clients and leadership qualities.
The Lawyer said on their website, "Gideon Benaim is often hailed by his peers as 'the next Keith Schilling'. This accolade is not simply for his close working relationship with his senior partner but due to his effectiveness as a lawyer. Benaim only made a partner two years ago and has shown his has the skills to shape the legal landscape in the media arena.
Our Clients say Benaim is 'very much like a dog with a bone as he won't give up'. They add with that passion comes 'all the skills and innovation you need from your lawyer'. This year he managed to extend the privacy laws to include children after JK Rowling sued photographers for taking pictures of her son."

Winner - Jenny Afia
The British Legal Awards 2008
Jenny Afia received this award which sets-out to celebrate the achievements of younger individuals within a firm and was said to be one of the most hard fought categories. The judges sought evidence of technical ability combined with a strong dose of entrepreneurism.
Commenting about the award Jenny said, "I am delighted to have won which was only possible as a result of the excellent training and opportunities we receive at Schillings."
Since then, Jenny has been identified in Chambers and Partners 2009 as "an associate to watch" and described as "fantastically smart". The 2010 edition stated that she remained "a favourite with clients for her work on both pre- and post- publication matters.

We are very pleased to have come second in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Team of the Year category at the Lawyer Awards.
