Jenny Afia

Winner: British Legal Awards 2008, Young Solicitor of the Year

Jenny is an Associate Solicitor specialising in reputation protection. Skilled at obtaining injunctions on short notice preventing the media from publishing unlawful stories, Jenny also has considerable experience of advising companies in advance of investigative programmes and articles so that untrue allegations are not published.

Jenny is adept at helping clients vindicate their reputations if false claims have been published. She keenly appreciates the need to act quickly when dealing with reputational threats, particularly those involving the internet. Jenny’s skill is not just knowing the law but distinguishing cases where a legal approach will assist a client from those where it could be counterproductive.

Additionally Jenny has extensive experience of commercial dispute resolution, having joined Schillings from a major City law firm, and of intellectual property disputes.

Her client base is broad extending from companies such as Tiscali, politicians such as President Jacob Zuma, artists such as Madonna and businessmen such as Lord Browne of Madingley. Jenny was identified in Chambers and Partners 2009 as “an associate to watch” and described as "fantastically smart". The 2010 edition stated that she remained "a favourite with clients for her work on both pre- and post- publication matters”.
